I’m launching paid subscriptions for my Substack today! If you’re interested in supporting my work, you can subscribe for $8 a month. If you subscribe through the Substack app it will be slightly higher as Apple and Google take a 30% cut. (And I will be covering ways to avoid Google and Apple at some point in the future for those interested.)
I will not be putting any of my shopping alternative research behind a paywall, because it’s important to me that people are able to access that information regardless of their income or means. So if you don’t want to pay – no worries, nothing is changing for you.
But this is my full time job – and I’d like to earn a living from it somehow. I don’t want to work with large advertisers or even get sponsored by the companies I feature, because that creates a conflict of interest and the most important thing to me is your trust. I’d love to be able to keep doing this work for a long time because of your support – not corporations.
As of right now, I don’t have any bonus content or similar things for those who pay for a subscription. Not because I don’t want to, but to be honest, I’m not sure what you’d like to see! I’d love to be able to share content for paid subscribers that is slightly looser and more fun, as I want to make sure anything deeply researched is available to everyone. So – let me know what you’d be interested in!
